Totally Insane!

OMG we had some fun at this event! The Insane Inflatable 5k was held at Cloverdale Fairground and we had the biggest turnout ever for a run4nachos event. 37 of us were all decked out in our r4n shirts making quite an impact as we laughed our way around the course. So pull up a chair for 12 minutes and …

Watching the Lights go Out

Every now and then life serves you up a nasty moment. I had one of these on the morning of Sunday June 26th at the Scotiabank Half Marathon and it scared the bejeezus out of me! I’m sharing this story with you all in the hope that none of you will be as stupid as me (you’re probably not anyway) …

Vegas 2015! … oh and the half marathon

So it was Vegas time again, the city of bright lights where you see all forms of human life and leave all your inhibitions behind you … it’s a city made for nachos! We set out to absorb all that Vegas had to offer. After all, we were old hands now. On arrival we had our usual red carpet transport …

Stalking 651

I remember it well, it was a stinking night, we were huddled together underneath a small covered area outside of the Sandpiper pub on the beach in White Rock. The rain was horizontal. Jamie turned to me and said, “I’m doing an Ironman this year.” Here I was, wrestling with the idea of jogging along the prom and up White …

The Spartan

What a fantastic day we had on Mt Seymour as the run4nachos team took on The Spartan! This was our first event where we could show off our shirts as a team. Thirteen of us in all were all over that mountain and we stood out like true nachos! It was a beautiful day, the course was challenging, the weather …

Bling, Sweat and Cheers

It’s official …… the nachos love Vegas. There, we said it …… we’ve come out. Our heads have been turned with glitz, glamour and images from the dark side. We are plain nachos no more. We are now, undoubtedly, ‘nachos with bling’ This is going to be a tough write. So much went on in Vegas I could write a …

Vancouver’s Newest Half Marathon!

A big congratulation to all the runners who competed in the Inaugural Vancouver Rock and Roll Half Marathon and 10K. The weather, which had been disgusting all week, cleared to allow for a beautiful fall morning run. …

‘Do you know the way to San Jose?’

Well Dean and Claudette certainly do! San Jose was their first in a trifecta of half marathons within a 6 week period, wow that’s some going. Way to go you two, beer well deserved, you guys rock. Next stop Vancouver, then Vegas  baby!

Muck MS – Chilliwack

A great day of fun was had at the Muck MS event. This was a 5k fundraising event in aid of Multiple Sclerosis Canada. The course was muddy with around 12 obstacles along the route. The event was held at Dicklands Farm in Chilliwack, with the farm being transformed into a muddy course running through old corn fields and a …

Brae Island 5k, 10k, 15k

This was the fifth and final race in a series run by the Mountain Equipment Centre. The course was laid out in 5k loops so you took your choice on which event you wanted to enter, 5k, 10k or 15k. We were hoping this run would at least be flat, unlike the Derby Reach run, which was in the same …

Derby Reach 10k

Derby Reach 10k trail run …. with hills! Yes hills, and pretty big ones! We all thought that this was going to be a nice flat course as it was right down by the river, in fact it did start like that until we headed off into the woods. We were hit with about 4 hills at least one of …

Bob’s knocking down Sandcastles

In June, Bob ran the Sandcastle City Classic 10k race. The route takes you through the south Surrey, White Rock area and is known for being a fast mainly downhill course. Unfortunately for Bob the route was changed slightly this year because of roadworks, so it turned out to be a much more winding and challenging route than normal. Not …
